Katie and Kirk's wedding day was so beautiful and everything went so smoothly! After postponing their wedding last year, it was so nice to see them finally enjoy the day they had been planning so long for. If you missed it, Katie and Kirk had an intimate backyard bbq celebration last year and finally got to celebrate with all of their family and friends this year.
The day started with everyone getting ready at the Hyatt Place Hotel in Utica. Katie got ready with her Aunt and bridesmaids while Kirk was joined by his Dad and groomsmen. Katie's dress was stunning but she said her dress was nothing like she pictured or planning on for her wedding. The instant she put it on, she knew it was the one. It was so fun to see everyone laughing and filled with excitement as they looked forward to the day. Katie sent a gift over to Kirk and in the card was a photo of his grandmother, which he quickly placed close to his heart in his suit jacket pocket. Kirk's gift to Katie was a pair of gold earrings, which she wore for the wedding day, she is excited to have something she can wear for years to come as a memory of their day.
Katie and Kirk had a traditional Catholic ceremony at St. Isidore Church. Katie looked absolutely beautiful as she walked down the aisle to meet Kirk who was beaming as she made her way to him. After their ceremony, we headed to George George Memorial Park to capture them with their bridal party. It was a beautiful backdrop for photos and after all the heavy rain, the gardens were in full bloom. Katie's orchid bouquet created by Yvette at Brighton Florist was incredible. It was one of the most beautiful and unique bouquets I have ever seen!
The evening continued at Fern Hill Golf Club with a cocktail hour on the patio overlooking the golf course grounds. The speeches toasting in honor of Katie and Kirk were hilarious and set the tone for the fun night ahead! Everyone had a great time on the dance floor, with DJ Joe keeping the party going.
My favorite moment of the day was when I was capturing some sweet moments of just Katie and Kirk together. Kirk would take a step back to admire his bride and tell Katie how beautiful she looked. These are the little moments I hope they remember from their day in the years ahead. Cheers to you, Katie and Kirk! Wishing you many more beautiful moments in your new chapter together!
