With a warm breeze and country music floating through the air, Erin and Michael's Detroit engagement session was the perfect way to capture the beginning of a new chapter in their lives together. The couple recently relocated to Michigan and I can think of no better way to showcase the beauty Detroit has to offer than exploring the city and strolling down the RiverWalk during golden hour.
The city was pretty quiet as we wandered around, unusual for this time of year. After making our way through Parker's Alley and down Woodward Avenue, we headed to the Z Lot where I knew they would have a great view of the skyline and see the city from a different perspective. As the sun began to set, we set off for the RiverWalk where the water was shimmering and reflected the warm sunny glow. The RiverWalk spans three miles along the Detroit River and provides a great view of our Canadian neighbors and the Ambassador bridge. Nestled between the city and the river's edge, there is a lush area of trees and foliage that makes you feel like you're in a hidden garden and not mere steps from one of the country's largest renaissance cities.
In our short time getting to know each other, I learned that Michael is very thoughtful and also a great playlist curator, as he made a special one for Erin, and Erin is super sweet and fun. I loved getting to hang out with them and hear about their future plans. Michael surprised Erin with a proposal on the beach in Florida that a friend helped set up and they'll be getting married in Detroit next fall. They just started planning but they cannot wait to have their friends and family join them in their new city to celebrate their love.
Congratulations, Erin and Michael! Cheers to a new chapter and a beautiful future together, no matter what city you're in!
