What started as a drizzly overcast morning turned into a beautiful summer day at Manda and Jacob's Dearborn Country Club wedding. The day began on the secluded second floor at the club, Manda and Jacob had special details with meaning, like the charm of Manda's late grandpa on her bouquet and the flowers arranged by her grandma. Manda was joined by her mom and grandma to help get ready for the day. She looked radiant in her wedding dress with delicate floral appliques. Jacob wore a grey suit and sage green tie that complimented Manda effortlessly. The couple planned their first look to be outside and they were finally ready to see each other!
Once I captured the bride and groom for their first look, their wedding party joined them. Family and friends are so important to Manda and Jacob so I really wanted to capture the closeness they share with their loved ones on their special day. The best man and they of honor said they agree that Manda and Jacob are a perfect match who complement each other so well and are truly meant to be. Is that not the sweetest thing!? How wonderful to be surrounded by such loving and supportive friends!
For Manda and Jacob's wedding ceremony, everyone joined them outside beneath a big white tent. I loved the quote the officiant shared during the ceremony, a quote by author Ursula K Le Guin. "Love doesn’t just sit there, like a stone, it has to be made, like bread; remade all the time, made new.” I think this is such a great metaphor as it relates to marriage and making a commitment to each other. It is a commitment made not just on your wedding day, but also every day after.
After the ceremony, guests made their way inside and were greeted with classic crisp white linens and centerpieces made from potted plants. Manda and Jacob wanted to enhance the natural beauty of the room, not distract from it, so they chose to be minimal with their decor. I loved the vintage yellow phone they used as their guestbook to incorporate a retro vibe. Guests could leave a message, like a voicemail, which is such a fun and unique way to collect wedding well-wishes.
Manda and Jacob are such a sweet couple. I loved capturing them together because they are naturally so loving and excited to be with one another. The theme of the day was all about having fun and celebrating with everyone important to them. After the bride and groom made their grand entrance, Manda's grandma shared a blessing before dinner. Manda and Jacob also thanked their guests for coming and both of their moms shared many thanks for everyone who was able to join them on this special day.
To kick off the night, the bride and groom shared their first dance and then added their wedding party and invited their guests to join them on the dance floor. Manda shared a special dance with her dad before the dance floor was opened and everyone let loose! Everyone danced the night away and you know the party has to be good when even the DJ jumps onto the dance floor to join in!
Congratulations, Manda and Jacob! I hope you enjoy many, many more years of celebrations in your marriage with all of your closest loved ones!
