Breanna and James' wedding day was a beautiful blend of contemporary details and classic romance. I loved documenting their day because I've been fortunate to experience other milestone moments with them. If you missed it, you can catch up on their proposal and engagement session and I also photographed their reunion after James was overseas with the military. It is such an honor when you get to witness so much of a couple's love story, which is why I was especially excited for their wedding day! Breanna and James' special day takes us to Ann Arbor. They both got ready with family and friends at their venue, The Circ Bar and Root which is now an event venue called The Circ and Root. The Circ Bar is an Ann Arbor favorite, which also features a lower level styled as an old-school speakeasy called Root. Root is a cool venue with brick tunnels and a cavern-style ceiling that paired beautifully with the couple's elegant details. Breanna definitely has an eye for details as she works for Ines and Marie, a full-service event planning company.

Once Breanna and James were ready, they met for their first look at their ceremony location. Breanna gifted James cuff links with their dog, Leo's, face on them, and James gifted Breanna white crocs after she joked prior to the wedding how comfortable they would be on the dance floor. This fun-loving couple loves to be goofy and joke around with each other. It's a testament to how confident they are in their love for each other, especially after being long-distance for so long.

Their ceremony was officiated by their neighbor JJ, which was so special for them as he has become a close friend, and so have their dogs! JJ asked everyone before the ceremony began to take a selfie and send it to the couple so they would have a flood of congratulatory photos and wishes. Everyone had so much fun with this and was a cool way to celebrate the couple before the festivities began. Leo was the honorary ring bearer and he did a great job! Breanna looked absolutely stunning as she made her way down the aisle with her mom! Her shoes were by Bella Belle and named the "Viola" shoe, which is her grandmother's name. She also wore a necklace with photos of her grandparents inside. During the ceremony, the couple did a tree watering ceremony and of course sealed their sweet vows with a kiss! Before the reception began, we soaked up the last few minutes of sunshine with some sunset portraits. The Circ Bar has an outdoor patio which was perfect for capturing the sun as it set behind the buildings. After their portraits, we headed inside to where the tables were set with gorgeous black and gold accents and crisp white linens. I definitely want black silverware at my house after seeing how pretty it looks! The clean contemporary aesthetic with the warm tones of the flowers and candles really brought this space to life.

Breanna and James cut their wedding cheesecake, which looked absolutely delicious, and they poured their champagne tower, which was a fun way to continue the champagne theme that they also included at their proposal. The best man and Breanna's sisters did a great job with their speeches. Her sisters had a fun twist and created their speech mad-lib style with help from the rest of the guests. James' mom shared some kind words and a blessing before dinner commenced. After dinner, everyone headed back down to Root for dancing. Breanna and James' first dance was light-hearted and packed with the best, fun dance moves, it was the perfect way to get the party started!
